Microsuction:
For removal of wax / debris from ear canal, and clearance of infection. Allows examination of the ear drum using a high power microscope to facilitate diagnosis.
Typically pain free in experienced and skilled hands.
Unlike ear “syinging” as is often performed by non specialists, it does not use water irrigation so does not risk triggering infections / damaging delicate ear structures.

Flexible Nasendoscopy:
For examination of the nasal cavity, back of the nose, Eustacian tube (connects nose and ear) and onto the voice box.

Nasal Cautery
Frequent nose bleeds can be troublesome for both adults and children. In clinic, Dr Grounds can carefully examine the nose, find the bleeding point and cauterise the vessel to prevent further bleeds.

Operations Performed

- Removal of cysts etc from Ear, nose or throat.
- Examination of upper aerodigestive tract (Pharynx / Larynx) under anaesthetic
